We use Ampara logistically for Kumana and Arugam combinations rather than extended cultural touring — overnight stays are functional.

Lahugala Kitulana is a small park where elephants gather at Lahugala tank — sometimes dozens visible in dry months when water elsewhere fails. Visits last two to three hours, ideal between longer drives.
